Can you feel the change in the air? We've "sprung ahead" our clocks, the temperatures are rising, and the birds are chirping. In a scant six weeks, we'll see green exploding from every branch; in just one week, we'll be into Spring officially.

Yay!

New season, new updates. Buckle up!

Hours Updates

Our policy of relying on the calendar to show openings and closures seems to be going well. We're closed tomorrow for a day trip to Illinois, then next week we're closed Wednesday through Friday to retrieve a new horse from central Kentucky. (Hence this post's hero image.) After that – we should be operating at near-normal hours until Summer.

Books and Pricing

Thanks to a point-of-sale system upgrade, we can manage inventory in a new way. We'll be (slowly) moving to individual book pricing and logging. This approach will allow us to put the entire store's inventory online. This is a slow process, but a fun one. Makes us touch every book. We probably won't be fully done until the summer. Until then, the "tier" pricing model we introduced in January still governs.

Upcoming Events

The April book-club book is Frankenstein. The Salon activity for next week is canceled because of the KY trip.

A Note About Politics

In the last two weeks, I've had three customers specifically mention that they came to Jason's Books & Coffee specifically because we welcome everyone. We believe bookstores should be third spaces for every person regardless of their sundry identity attributes.

We are not a progressive bookstore. We are not a conservative bookstore. We're just a bookstore and whether you walk in wearing your MAGA hat or your Pussy Hat, you are welcome here.

I"m glad that the message is spreading!
